For those about to rock

Don’t look now, but the Wyoming Cowboys are in the Top 10. Actually, they're in The Bottom 10.

The Cowboys are ranked 10th in ESPN.com’s The Bottom 10 for the first time this season other than the university’s band uniforms.

The Bottom 10 author David Duffey is using an AC/DC theme in honor of the band’s new album “Black Ice,” in describing the 10 worst programs in college football.

For Wyoming, Duffey said, “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)”: The Bottom 10 is firing off its cannon at the return of the Cowboys to our band.”

Duffey also has San Diego State -- Saturday’s Cowboys’ opponent -- ranked sixth. He describes the Aztecs as, "Hells Bells": Playing “Hells Bells” as entrance music for closer Trevor Hoffman seemed to work for the Padres. Maybe they can loan the sheet music to the Aztecs.”

In honor of the Wyoming-San Diego State matchup, Duffey has named it the “National Pillow Fight of the Week.” The Cowboys are 0-5 in Mountain West Conference play and 2-6 overall, while the Aztecs are 0-4 and 1-7.

Duffey has winless North Texas State ranked fist once again. In describing the Mean Green, he said: “It's A Long Way To The Top:" Unless you are the Mean Green, who share the nation's longest active losing streak at nine games.”

The rest of the Bottom 10 include, from 2 to 10: Washington (0-7), Washington State (1-7), SMU (1-8) , Michigan (2-6), San Diego State (1-7), Syracuse (1-6), Utah State (1-7), Miami (Ohio) (2-6) and Wyoming (2-6).

On the waiting list (in which Wyoming was last week), Eastern Michigan (2-7), Iowa State (2-6), Louisiana-Monroe (2-6), Middle Tennessee (2-6), NC State (2-6), Ohio (2-7), Purdue (2-6), Southern Miss (2-6), Toledo (2-6), Tulane (2-5), UAB (2-6) and UCF (2-6).

As Brian Johnson likes to scream, "Rock & Roll Ain't Noise Pollution."
